I used to know a way to do it but since then it has been patched up.

However, technically it is still possible to hide the ad as on my myspace, the ad doesn't show (initially).

I have achieved this by moving the body of the page down (like artists do when they put a topbanner, above the advert).

I have then disabled the scroll bar, rendering users unable to view the advert.

The overflow: hidden gets rid of the scroll bars and the margin-top moves the profile down.

However, in order for this to work you must have made a space which is suited for this alteration.

NOTE** I would just like to add that the advert on my space has !not! been blocked but simply not in the usual place: users still have access to it via a simple link!!!!

I'm not a myspace user (I know, don't hold it against me please)

But a simple way to block ads, is to edit your hosts file. I did a quick google search, my source has a hosts file that will install for you and block all sorts of ads and spyware.

This is untested for myspace ads, but it is worth a shot. You could block adsense servers from loading ads.

The biggest benefit, is it blocks adware servers. If the adware never presents itself to you to install, you can't install it, can you?

if you do that myspace will delete your account but removing from layouts is harmless just delete the text in layouts like "pimp-my-profile.com myspace layouts".
